Email addresses that "have issues"

There are two types of email addresses we are unable to work with:
• Personal email addresses
• Role email addresses

Personal email addresses:
The email address you submit must be that's readily available for the general public to use, since, as time goes on, we'll continue finding ways to connect those two dots. Definitely don't want your personal email address to end up in the LookLocal app or on our website someday.

For a list of alternative options that are spam-resistant, please scroll to the bottom of this page.

Role addresses
Addresses that begin with terms that could apply to groups of people (read: an entire department) are called "role addresses." Companies used to broadcast email newsletters and messages to large groups--such as the The 3/50 Project--reject these addresses and block them from their systems.

Obviously, the choice of email address to use with your customers is one that only you can make. We just need to let you know ahead of time that if the email address you submit begins with any of the following, you will not receive email updates or alerts from us (for a list of suggested spam-resistant alternatives, please scroll to the bottom):

Alternate email address that work (and are harder for spammers and spambots to find):

If you use your own domain after the @
(ex: @susanscards.com, @randysbodyshop.com)
•
customer_service@
• contact_us@
• questions_answered@

If you use a public domain after the @
(ex: gmail.com, comcast.com, etc.)
Susans_Cards_Customer_Service@
• Randys_Body_Shop@
• SylviasDonuts_CustomerService@

Sorry about any inconvenience this causes; while it's not our rule, it's one we have to abide by.
